It is often the light emanating from the souls of children that allow us to tap into our own light that we hold in our hearts. Children remind us of what we used to be and what we can become. It is in their smiles that we discover the innocence of hope and the endless ambitions of achieving.
The MEI Foundation visited Dehiwala, Colombo to meetup with a 100 children in the local village who came from challenging backgrounds. We were able to spend a day with them, listening to the words of the adults in their community who take care of them and watching the children’s beaming faces as they patiently wait and cling on to each word being delivered. We distributed dry rations and stationary to the little human beings who have a big future ahead of them.
Please make sure that in every bit of goodness you impart, some of it reaches small children facing insurmountable challenges in life, because they are THE face of tomorrow. We begin with them to build new beginnings. Start today, it doesn’t have to be materialistic, it could be an encouraging word. Just look into their ambitious eyes and tell them: "I see you, I see your potential, so go be unapologetically successful in life, I am here for you."
