In 2019, the MEI Foundation had installed tube wells in villages in Horowpathana.
The water was first tested for impurities prior to the installation.
MEI's representatives attended the well inaugurations and together with the villagers arranged for it to be opened in the local customary ways.
The villagers, who once lacked a water source, will greatly benefit from this well for their daily needs for which they used to travel miles to obtain before.
